DUNKESWELL PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes for a Meeting of Dunkeswell Parish Council held in the Village Hall at 7.30pm, Monday 8th December 2008.
Present: Mr G Sworder (Chairman), Mr J Barrow (Vice Chairman), Cllrs Mrs B Russell and Mssrs Mr C Sumpter

All councillors are politely reminded of their obligation to declare interests under the Code of Conduct.
In making decisions the Parish Council recognise their statutory duties provided for in Section 11A(2) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 (National Parks) and Section 85 of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (AONBs) that in exercising or performing any functions in relation to, or so as to affect, land, they shall have regard to their purposes (ie conserve and enhance their natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage and to promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of their special qualities by the public).
1 Minutes of the previous meeting held in the Village Hall on Monday 17th November 2008 were signed as a correct record of that meeting. Agreed.
2 PLANNING
2.3 Tree Applications (for decision)
2.3.1 08/2882/TRE Delfim – reduce crowns of 15 beech trees by 4 to 6 metres. Decision: APPROVAL
2.3.2 08/2916/TRE Delfim – reduce crowns of beech by 4-6m and coppice 11 beech at bank level. Decision: REFUSAL
2.3.3 08/2906/TRE 15 Potters Stile – re-coppice four ash trees and one beech tree. Decision: APPROVAL 08/2935/TRE 3 Louis Way – coppice at ground level three ash trees. Decision: APPROVAL.
2.4.1 EDDC – copy letter to owner to request removal of mobile home and storage containers from agricultural land adjacent Flightway.

3.1 DCC Highways dept – Following a request for signage to the Airfield and a rationalisation of signing through the village in general, Cllrs Sworder, Sumpter and Proctor met with Mr Barnes of Highways and a proposal has been received for comment which was agreed.
Pothole by water tower on Long Lane towards Broadhembury.
Mr Barrow reported that flood repair work had been carried out on Bridleway 19 and marking on footpath 6. There are a couple more small jobs to be completed before March.
5.1 Best Kept Village – application form received. Agreed to enter.
